It is linked to former prime minister Yevhen Marchuk - his wife Larysa Ivshyna is the paper's editor-in-chief. Den has been supporting Leonid Kuchma, NATO, and ties with the West.

The paper is also notable by its annual photography contest, being the main photo event in Ukraine.
