It was founded in February 2000, and the circulation in the third quarter for 2007 was 103,000 readers. Until 2008 it was half-owned by the Financial Times, in turn owned by Pearson; that stake was sold, and FTD is neither owned by Pearson nor subject to any editorial control from the FT.
